Patriot Paws Dog Grooming

Drop-off for grooming services is between 7:30 AM and 7:45 AM at the back door of the school/Ag entrance. Guests will be greeted by a student at the Ag entrance, where dogs will be escorted into the facility. This entrance helps maintain the safety and flow of traffic while minimizing interaction with other students. You can pick up your dog between 2:45 PM and 3:15 PM at the same entrance.

Customers must complete initial Release and Waiver of Liability when dropping off their dog for grooming services. This paperwork includes verification that the dog is up to date on shots and tick-free. This form can be completed online or in person on the day of appointment.

Currently we only accept Cash or Check and payment will be taken on the day of the appointment.

If your dog requires special care, such as specific grooming needs or if it has a history of aggression or anxiety, please notify the teacher in advance. We may need to adjust the grooming process accordingly, or in some cases, schedule a separate session after school.

Muzzles may be used if necessary for the safety of both the animal and the students. If your dog requires a muzzle for safety, a soft cloth muzzle will be used. The use of a muzzle will ensure the safety of both the animal and students during the grooming process. If a dog continues to be uncooperative, the teacher may contact the owner to pick up the dog, or services may be denied to ensure the safety and well-being of the animal.

Yes, dogs are kept in Pro-Select crates upon arrival and are closely monitored throughout the day by students from Agriscience, Large Animal Science, Small Animal Science, and Vet Science classes. We ensure the dogs are walked and maintained in the Ag Lab areas.

The grooming process may take up to 3 class periods and could involve multiple student teams. Animals are worked on in small increments to prevent stress and overheating of grooming tools. The dogs will receive breaks as needed during the grooming process.

It is generally recommended that owners not be present during grooming, as it can cause anxiety for the dog. However, if you prefer to be present, you can schedule an after-school grooming appointment (subject to the teacher’s discretion).

Grooming services will primarily be handled by students in Small Animal Science classes, with support from students in Agriculture and Large Animal Science. All students are trained in proper restraint techniques and are supervised by the teacher at all times to ensure safety for both the students and animals.

Students are trained in safety and grooming techniques, including proper nail clipping and handling procedures. They must pass a safety proficiency test before being allowed to assist with grooming. The teacher supervises all grooming activities to ensure proper techniques are followed.
