Hello, my name is Mark Redferrin! I'm excited to be returning for my 2nd year at The Heritage and my 13th in the teaching profession. I began my teaching career as a teacher's aide at Smyrna High School, followed by my first classroom assignment at LaVergne Middle. I've spent the past 10 years at Marshall County High School, teaching a variety of mathematics classes. I am a graduate of Tennessee Technological University (1998), with professional experience in the social and child services fields.
While I am relatively new to Heritage, I'm no stranger to White House. I've lived in White House pretty much all my early life and attended K-12 school here. I love this community and look forward to reconnecting with many of my old friends who still live in the area.
I am blessed to have a beautiful wife of 23 years, April, an engineer (the desk job type, not the train driver; although that would be pretty cool!). We have one daughter, Abbey, who is a recent graduate from Freed Hardeman University now working as a nurse at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, who was also a 4-year member of the Lady Lions Soccer Team.
Speaking of soccer, I was fortunate enough to be offered the opportunity to lead the boys and girls soccer teams for the 2020-21 school year. I spent the previous 7 years coaching the girls and boys soccer teams at Marshall County High School. I'm looking forward to working with all our great student-athletes and their wonderful families.
This year I will be teaching Geometry, ACT Prep, and Statistics.
I am excited to be here, and hope we all have a great school year!
