In a year unlike any other, 20 students at White House Heritage went above and beyond what others have completed before them. Through hybrid and in person learning, these students worked and completed more certifications than ever before.
The Advanced Computer Applications class is setup for students to work to earn their Microsoft Word certification the first 9 weeks and their Microsoft Excel certification the second 9 weeks. The class is self-paced, and students are encouraged to work and test when they are ready instead of waiting for everyone in the class.
In previous years, we have had students earn Word, Excel and usually a couple will earn PowerPoint. For the first time ever in Robertson County, for any CTE certification, we had every student in the class earn at least one certification. Every one of these students now qualify to graduate with distinction if they have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
But to still go above and beyond in this crazy year, we also had three students surpass their Word, Excel and PowerPoint certifications to earn an Expert Level Certification! Ian Messina and David Buckett earned their Microsoft Word Expert Certifications and Ben Branlund earned his Microsoft Excel Expert Certification.
To say we are extremely proud is an understatement. The students pictured above have their certification certificates, and they continued to earn after the group picture was taken. So, you have multiple pictures showing the certifications this semester.
This awesome group of students earned 19 Microsoft Word, 14 Excel, 8 PowerPoint, 2 Expert Word and 1 Expert Excel certification for a total of 44 certifications! So that every student is recognized for their awesome achievement in a pandemic year, the students are Ramsee Barbee, Ben Branlund, Jared Brummett, David Buckett, Tyler Chapman, Aidan Cooper, Madison Dobak, Jaxon Green, Juliet Hannum, Caroline Hudson, Anthony Knalls, Zachary Logsdon, Tyler McDonald, Braden McFarlin, Ian Messina, Josh Moore, Jordan Myers, Alec Spears, Hallie Williams, and Will Wilson. Kudos to these students and their awesome achievement this semester.
