White House Heritage Digital Arts student Hailey Short was the winner of a $100 prize in this year's RCTC logo contest sponsored by the Technology Department of the Robertson County Schools.
RCTC, also known as the Robertson County Technology Conference, is a day-long professional development training for teachers on the latest technology, software and ideas of using technology in the classroom.
Short is a senior who designed the winning logo during her Digital Arts II class last Spring. Her entry  based on the conference theme "Old School to Bold School" was selected from among the more than 80 entries from schools all across the district.
"I didn't learn I had won until school was out,"said Hailey "Someone contacted my mom to offer congratulations. That's when I first learned I won."
" I think the winners were announced just as school ended. Hailey sent me an e-mail to confirm that she had really won. " said Heritage Digital Arts teacher Tom Beesley. "I'm proud of the work she did and the time she put into the finished logo. She started with several ideas before settling on the contest winner.
Heritage also had the second place contest winner in Digital Arts student Adayn Arnett.
"I am also proud of Ady's work. She was in Digital Arts I last Spring and showed she really understands the basics of good design," said Beesley.
