White House Heritage High School Senior Anne Knight was named the winner of a statewide logo contest for the Tennessee Department of Education’s 2018 EPSO week, October 22-26. EPSOs or Early Poster Secondary Opportunities are chances for students to take college level course work or earn college credit or industry certifications while still in high school.

Knight's winning logo was selected from a group of roughly fifty statewide entries and was used across the state to promote those opportunities.

"I was surprised when I learned I won," said Knight. "I still am a little in awe of what I did."

Knight's logo was produced as a class project in her Digital Arts and Design III class at Heritage.

"I am super proud of Anne's work, said teacher Tom Beesley. "She is very creative and works hard to communicate her ideas when she completes a project. There were three students from her class who produced logos that were submitted for the statewide contest"

Knight has her own experience with EPSOs to draw on in creating her winning logo.

"I have taken several Advanced Placement classes already," said Knight. "Since those credits come at graduation. I used that in my concept for the logo."

Knight plans to attend college majoring in cinema studies or possibly advertising and marketing after high school but hasn't selected a college just yet.
